Library & Information Centre

About Library:-

The VEC Library consists of a Central Library and 4 departmental libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various Divisions. Initially setup in 2009.

Mission:-
Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of document’s useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge.

Vision:-
Library aims to be best among engineering college libraries in the country. Library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach towards students and faculty. Library intends to offer comprehensive services related to dissemination of knowledge.

Short term goals:-
To serve the academic needs of all students and faculty members. As a center for collection of books and Journals of all related subjects to develop a comprehensive collection of information required for teaching and reference purpose. To acquire, organize Information resources to meet the present and future needs of its users.

Long term goal:-
Developing a consortium of all Engineering college libraries with resource sharing and networking

Library Computerization:_
The Library uses Smart Campus software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The Smart Campus consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing . Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and more than 10000 bibliographic records of books available in the Library, can now be accessed through the Smart Campus OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books. The editing and updating activities are in progress.
The Idenizen Smart Campus package has been successfully implemented.

Hostel:

VITS Engg. College with its beautifully landscaped and carefully tended gardens, provides an ideal environment for a congenial learning experience. Here is a campus that invites students out of their hostels to spend time after classes, amidst greenery and floral colour. The Institute provides separate accommodation for boys and girls. StudentS seeking admission into VEC have to apply for accommodation arrangements at the time of admission.

Well maintained food-court caters to the student community members of the faculty, staff and visitors. For those who want a change, a variety of hygienic food facilities are available on the campus. Food Court, serves delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food at reasonable price.

Computer Lab:-

The central computing facility consists of 70 Computer systems with high speed Internet connectivity through Broadband under RELIANCE. And The Internet surfing is provided for the students, staff and Library members.free of charge.

Other Amenities:-

VEC Institutions offers the best facilities for overall development of students along with spaces for recreation and relaxation. The VEC is proud of its computerized services - every single computer in the campus is connected and provides internet access. Computerized Departments take on full responsibility of ensuring that every student's track record from admission to performances to placement is chronicled.

The primary campus of VEC Institution also offers adequate facilities for seminars and workshops. It includes two air-conditioned and well-furnished seminar halls which are used for a variety of purposes. The seminar halls are also well-equipped with DLP projectors and other necessary audio-visual equipments.

The seminar halls pose as the perfect location for the various departments and the college to conduct technical and non-technical seminars, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, etc. It is also a popular venue for co-curricular activities and campus recruitment programmes.

Complementing intellectual growth is the sports facilities at VEC Institutions The campus offers playing fields for sports activities including basketball, football, badminton, kabaddi, throwball, cricket and tennis. In addition, indoor games facilities are provided for sports and games such as table tennis, carom and chess. An indoor sports center and gymnasium are presently under construction.

A recruitment chamber, board-room and restrooms are also incorporated in the campus for the benefit of the students. Most importantly, the campus possesses what most students look.
